Handmade Work You Can Be Proud Of 👩🎨💖
“It would be easier to say I bought it…” – Why are we afraid to admit we’re talented? 🧵✨
I was talking with a friend. She was wearing a beautiful dress, and I complimented her on it.
She smiled and said:
“I made it myself.”
And then she added a bit shyly:
“I know, it would probably be easier to say I bought it somewhere.”
And that’s when it hit me.
How many of us hide our own skills? How many of us downplay the hours spent at the sewing machine ✂️, searching for fabric 🧵, perfecting the pattern – as if it wasn’t good enough?
Why is it “better” to buy than to create? 🛍️ vs. ✨
Because that’s what we’ve been taught. Fast fashion, cheap stores, ads for “perfect” things. But when you make something yourself, it’s not less. It’s more.
- It’s made just for you – for your body and your soul 💃🧵.
- It carries a piece of your time, patience, and joy ⏳😊.
- It’s unique – no two handmade things are ever the same ✨.
✨ What did I tell my friend?
Be proud. You made something beautiful. It’s your signature, your creativity, your idea and originality.
It’s always better to admit it with pride 💪👗.
And you? 🤔
Have you ever sewn something that made you happy? Something people praised?
Write to me, send a photo 📸. I’d love to show your creations as inspiration for others.
Because every seamstress deserves admiration – not an apology. 🌸
With love for sewing,
Your seamstress Gabka
