What is Stroller Fabric?

The stroller fabric is a polyester fabric, a stronger rust fabric with a weight of 170-240 g/m2.

The back of the stroller fabric has a standard waterproof coating, but in various stores you can also find stroller fabric without the coating.

With us, you can only find stroller fabrics with a waterproof coating on the reverse side.

We support quality production in the EU.

Stroller fabrics marked "Certificate 1" have the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, class 1 certificate. You can use them to sew covers for strollers, footmuffs and other products intended for children under 3 years of age. These are MATT, Premium, LEN MAT and Jacquard types.

What to use the stroller fabric for?

Stroller fabric was originally widely used to make covers for strollers, hence the name of this rust fabric.

Over the years, the fabric has also become popular with sewing beginners and now has a very wide range of uses, for example:

- footmuffs and buggies for strollers
- handbags, backpacks, shopping bags
- sitting bags
- beds for dogs, cats and other pets
- swing covers, outdoor chairs, cushions
- parasols, awnings, curtains for pergolas
- chef's aprons
- tablecloths, placemats
- cases
- bags

How to sew Waterproof Stroller Fabric?

The fabric does not shrink, so there is no need to wash/shrink it before sewing. It's not elastic, so it doesn't matter how you cut it.

Sew the stroller fabric with UNIVERSAL NEEDLES. The strength of the needle depends on the strength of the thread, usually you should be fine with a strength of 80.

We recommend sewing with AMANN ASPO 120 polyester threads. For a nicer effect, you can sew with stronger threads. The seams will be stronger, stand out and be more visible - SYNTON threads are amazing. You don't have to be afraid of STRENGTH 60, even home machines sew with it. Domestic machines tend to have a problem with stronger threads, e.g. STRENGTH 40, they are more suitable for industrial machines.

We offer POLYESTER EDGING STRIPS for sewing the edges of waterproof fabrics. PES strips are stronger than cotton strips, so they are more suitable for this kind of fabric.

Always iron any REINFORCEMENT onto the lining, as it does not like to stick to the stroller fabric. Bubbles could form, which would unnecessarily devalue the entire product and your work.
